Alicia Armstrong
Welcome!
I am an Alaskan artist who is captivated by color and the interplay of sunlight and shadow. Sensuous forms, whether in flowers, mountain landscapes, glacial ice, or the curve of a single ptarmigan feather, are at the core of my aesthetic. Orange-red tundra colors back dropped by indigo blue mountains, spruce shadows making purple patterns on the snow, vibrant hot pinks of Alaska farm grown peonies are all scenes from my wanderings that inspire me to grab my brushes and paint!
Small watercolor studies allow me to focus on the intimate details of nature; while the vastness of the Alaskan landscape is compelling to fill ever larger oil canvasses. In Alaska, size matters!
Whatever the season, the natural beauty here keeps me inspired, grounded and at peace. I hope my art brings you the joy of color and an appreciation for the magic of the world we live in.
